New Enrolments
We are excited to welcome new enrolments to our kura, where learners will thrive in a supportive and inspiring environment rooted in our shared values and culture.

To check that you eligible to enrol at Winchester School Te Kura o Te Haonui please type your address into the Education Counts website: https://www.educationcounts.govt.nz/find-school. If you don't live in our zone you will need to complete an Out of Zone application and be accepted during an intake period to enrol at our school.

If you live in our zone, please make contact with us 2 Terms before your child is due to start school. This enables us to plan how many New Entrant classes we need and helps make the transition to school easier.

In Zone Enrolment
If you are eligible to enrol at Winchester School Te Kura o Te Haonui you are most welcome to make an appointment to meet with the Principal and to look around the school.

Out of Zone Enrolment
We have four out of zone intakes per year. The School Board in collaboration with the principal will determine how many out of zone spaces there will be for each intake.
The ballot dates are as follows:
- Friday 28 February (for Term 3, 2025)
- Friday 30 May (for Term 4, 2025)
- Thursday 13 August (for Term 1, 2026)
- Friday 7 November(for Term 2, 2026)
Parents will be informed soon after the ballot if their application has been successful or not.
Ministry of Education priorities exist in deciding who is offered a place.
Applications for out of zone enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority:
- Any applicant who is accepted for enrolment in a special programme run by the school
- Applicants who are siblings of current students
- Applicants who are siblings of former students
- Any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school
- Any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the Board of the school or a child of a member of the Board of the school
- All other applicants
If there are more applicants in any of these priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot.
