Rawa/Property Updates for around our school
The purpose of this page is to put all of our property plans in one place to keep the community informed.
FENCE UPGRADE
We have been successful in funding from the Ministry of Education to update our perimeter fencing to help keep all ākonga safe. There are currently gaps and inconsistencies all around the place. This upgrade will incorporate wooden paling fences on the field and updated steel fences across the front and the back of the school.
Update 5th July 2024
The tender was won by Matt Robb Fencing Ltd T/A Mr Fencer Hamilton and we are in the process of meeting with MrFencer and the Project manager at the end of July to plan for next steps. Due to the field being boggy in the winter months=, it is likely that the summer school holidays will be the ideal time for the project to start.

Update 25th July 2024
- The work is scheduled to be done during 28th September and 13th October. This is during the next School Holidays.
- All fences and gates will be at 1800mm height.
- Latches to enter school will be moved from 1600mm to 1700mm in height. There will be some sort of step on the outsite of the school to step on to assist with the open.
- The pool and turf fence will be replaced with 25mm diamond chain to reduce climbing risk.
- There will be temporary fencing put up across the field while they are working to protect their space and the space of the neighbours.
- Neighbours please remove anything from your existing fences that you want to keep e.g. pot plants etc. Mr Fencer will be removing everything as seen in the below designs.
- Neighbours who have a pool, Mr Fencer will put up an additional temporary fence around your pool.
- The current aluminium fencing along the front of the school will be kept for the PTA to raffle off to our community.
- The front car park gate entrance will be moved from the side (near the willow trees) to in front of the last car park to assist with wheelchair access into the school.

SANDPIT UPGRADE
The community have fundraised $12,000 that will be put towards a new sand pit upgrade. Here are our initial plans, we are now engaging with our community on who can help us do the work.
Thanks to Kevin Aldridge, the first phase of the sandpit area will be done over the Easter Weekend. The old sandpit and surrounding area is going to be cleared and levelled in preparation for phase 2. This will mean that we will not have access to a sand pit for a little while... but it will be worth it!
Phase 2 - Purchasing of materials, growing grass in the surrounding area and finalising the plan.
Phase 3 - Building the sandpit
Phase 4 - Filling it with sand and opening the area for business.
