 Enroling at Winchester School

Please check that you eligible to enrol at Winchester School Te Kura o Te Haonui by looking at the enrolment zone map below. If you don't live in our zone you will need to complete an Out of Zone application and be accepted during an intake period to enrol at our school.

If you live in our zone, please make contact with us 6 months before your child is due to start school. This enables us to plan how many New Entrant classes we need and helps make the transition to school easier.
Most children have 3 visits in the time leading up to starting school. Knowing when your child will start here helps us plan for these transition visits.
If you are eligible to enrol at Winchester School Te Kura o  Te Haonui you are most welcome to make an appointment to meet with the Principal and to look around the school.

OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENTS

By September 15 each year the Board will determine how many out of zone intakes there will be and how many spaces there will be for each intake. Currently there are two intakes each year which are Term 1 & 2, and then another for Term 3 & 4.

Our next ballot will be in May 2022 after determining how spaces might be available for out of zones students who start school in July 2022.
Parents will be informed in May if their application has been successful or not.

Ministry of Education priorities exist in deciding who is offered a place.
Applications for out of zone enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority:
  1. Applicants who are siblings of current students
  2. Applicants who are siblings of former students
  3. Any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school
  4. Any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the Board of the school or a child of a member of the Board of the school
  5. All other applicants
If there are more applicants in any of these priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot.
