Kia Ora e te whānau,
It is Nic writing to you, I hope that everyone had a great Queen's Birthday weekend?
UPDATE FROM BEDE
With Nic being appointed as Principal, I've negotiated an earlier date to leave Winchester School. I wish to thank the Board for their understanding and support as I head into new ventures.
My last day as Principal of Winchester School will now be Friday 17 June - next Friday. Nic is ready to take over now, as he has done for the past week while I've been away feeling unwell.

CREATIVES IN SCHOOLS
The Creatives in Schools project is going so well! We are into the next cycle now and we are focusing on the time between 1864-1930s.
We have 2 visits next week to support our learning. This time only the creatives in schools kids will be attending the visits. We have enough help for the Wednesday visit but we are still requiring help for Friday. If your child is involved in Creatives in Schools and you are available to support with the trip next Friday, please contact Jolanda at j.hanly@winchester.school.nz
From the first cycle of Creatives, we have some learning to share about Te Motu o Poutoa or ANZAC Park. Ka mau te wehi, such a creative way to share your understanding!

KŌWHAI TEAM UPDATE
In the Kōwhai team, we have been learning about the Manawatu River and our local environment. After going on the river walk and learning about how rain flows down mountains to form rivers, Kōwhai-nui decided to make a model of the Manawatu. We included all the important features of our area - the windmills, the city of Palmerston North, Foxton Beach, the ranges, and of course the river. We worked collaboratively to create our model.
Below are some photos, feel free to take better ones if you want - hard to get the right angle!
Thanks!
